For years, I wanted to have a tiny home. Had I ever been in one? No. But was I inspired by Instagram posts of beautifully crafted tiny homes filled with only the most necessary yet beautiful decor and essentials. The minimalist in me was intrigued. I could definitely live in one! The plan was to buy 5 acres in Florida and live in a tiny home. Why Florida? I do not like being cold. I also like lizards. However ... Now it is 2024. I began to visit Bayfield, Wisconsin, on a regular basis. Boating, hiking, fishing, enjoying all Lake Superior had to offer. I started thinking of buying land for a tiny home. Sure, I love Florida and I love being warm, but Bayfield is charming, and Lake Superior is magical. I had always loved to visit Duluth and the north shore, but the south shore was more accessible, more enjoyable. Jump to 2025 and I continue to browse Zillow. A 5.5 acre property caught my eye. This could become a place to get away, to be in nature, and to be close to everything that Bayfield and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore had to offer. We bought the land. And by we, I am talking about Dwayne. He has his own special connection to this place. He's had a boat (or two) in Bayfield for over 25 years, right on City Dock. His daughters have spent their summers here. He didn't introduce me to this area, but he's made it my second home. I have only visited over the years, but he's watched this area grow and change. He's made good friendships with people who live here and people who visit every summer.

Bayfield means so much to us individually and also together. Tiny homes will become the perfect basecamp for adventure. We are so excited to share the magic with you! In the coming days, I will share more about how we acquired the tiny homes that will be a perfect basecamp for Bayfield and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore adventures. Thank you for reading and coming along on this journey! ~Sarah
